Dolores A. Blonkowski Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Dolores A. Blonkowski, 83, of Morley Drive, Ballston Spa, passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at Saratoga Hospital. Dolores was born in Amsterdam on May 16, 1938, a daughter of Stanley and Josephine Burek Mielcasz and was a graduate of St. Mary’s Institute. She resided in Ballston Spa most of her life. Her greatest delight was being able to care for her family, especially her three grandchildren, who she enjoyed crafting with. She was known for her baking and cooking her family’s favorite Polish recipes. Dolores also enjoyed reading and gardening where everyone appreciated her beautifully grown flowers. She was a member of the “Golden Girls”, which included her two very close friends, Betty Swierzowski and Pat Gajewski. Dolores was married to Edward B. Blonkowski on April 18, 1959. Edward sadly passed on January 19, 2013. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her stepmother, Jean Halgas Mielcasz; uncle, Lester Mielcasz; and her son-in-law, Todd Yaeger. Survivors include three children, Joanne (Peter) Romano, Paul (Lili) Blonkowski, and Nancy Yaeger; three beloved grandchildren, Brittany (Jesse) Siminitz, Stephanie Yaeger and Morgan Yaeger; two great-granddaughters, Eloise and Lucille Siminitz; sister, Phyllis (Marco) Zumbolo; three nephews; several cousins; and her extra special neighbor, Betty Lenarciak. Cremation was performed at Park View Crematorium, Schenectady. Final burial will be held at the Saratoga National Cemetery on a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are by the Robert M. Halgas Funeral Home, Inc., Johnstown, NY.
