H. Christine Sheehan Uebrick

February 22, 1963 - February 16, 2015

H. Christine “Chris” Sheehan Uebrick, 51, of Hickory Hill Road Fonda, transitioned from this world to her next on Monday evening February 16, 2015. She was at home with her family, friends, and beloved beagles. She was born in Troy on February 22, 1963 a daughter of John “Jack” and Alys Lorraine Lowell Sheehan and was a 1981 graduate of Stillwater Central School. Following her graduation, Chris was employed at the Saratoga Spa State Park, beginning a career that spanned thirty four years with the NYS Department of Parks & Recreation. She worked in the Contracts Administration office and was a loyal, dedicated employee. It was here that she built lifelong friendships and met her husband to be. Chris moved to Fonda in 2006; her life complete. She was a collector of bears – hundreds of bears. Befitting to Chris, folklore describes the Black Bear as being the creation of the Great Spirit. She was predeceased by her father in 2001. Survivors include her husband, David J. Uebrick, whom she married on June 15, 2013; her mother, Lorraine Sheehan, of Parrish, FL; daughter, Jessica Uebrick of Perth; son Christopher (Melissa) Uebrick of Amsterdam; two brothers, Joe Sheehan of Stillwater and Scott (Colleen) Sheehan of Lafayette, CO; her faithful beagles, Jack and Holly; several nieces, nephews, grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins and a large group of special friends. Her family gives special thanks to Pam Durfee and Aimee-Jo Warn for their loving support as caregivers and to Meg McGuire for accompanying Chris during her treatments. In addition, her family is grateful for the visits, cards, letters, and outpouring of support from everyone. A celebration of Chris’ life will be held at the Robert M. Halgas Funeral Home, Inc. 111 County Highway 106 (Corner of Route 29 & Black Street) Johnstown on Saturday, February 28, 2015 from 1 – 4pm. A eulogy will begin at 3:30pm. The celebration will continue at the American Legion Main Street, Broadalbin. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ayres Memorial Animal Shelter, Mountain Valley Hospice, or to the Jack Sheehan Scholarship Award, all in care of the funeral home.
