May 7, 1959 - September 18, 2021

John “Jack” Albertin, 62, of Mayfield, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, September 18, 2021, at home with his family at his side. He was born in Philadelphia, PA on May 7, 1959, a son of the late John and Donna Wadsworth Albertin and lived in Mayfield. Jack was a self-employed contractor and owned and operated Jackson’s Specialties for several years. His greatest love and biggest accomplishment were his boys, Jack and Jared. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and will be fondly remembered for his quick wit, his sense of humor, and his wealth of knowledge. Survivors include his wife, Nora, whom he married on June 1, 1996. Jack and Nora recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary. In addition to his wife, he is also survived by two sons, Jack and Jared Albertin of Mayfield; two sisters, Kelly (Dennis) Mason of Guilderland and Kimberly Godfrey of Clifton Park; two brothers, Shawn (Lisa) Albertin and Shane (Becki) Albertin of Schenectady; and several cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins. Cremation was performed at Park View Crematorium, Schenectady. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 6 – 8 pm at the Robert M. Halgas Funeral Home, Inc., 111 County Highway 106 (Corner of Route 29 & Black Street), Johnstown. A memorial service will be held on Thursday at 11 am at the funeral home with Rev. Bonnie Orth, officiating. Final burial will follow at Mayfield Union Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice or to the Alzheimer’s Assoc., in care of the funeral home. Jack’s family would like to give a special thank you to the ALS Center at St. Peter’s Hospital, Kelly Viscosi and the Mayfield Primary Care family, and Mountain Valley Hospice for their exceptional care given; and to all those who helped Jack throughout his journey.
