Mary Lou Roser Broadalbin – Mary Lou Roser, 87, of Stevers Mills Road, Broadalbin passed away peacefully on Friday, November 12, 2021, at the Nathan Littauer Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Amsterdam on September 5, 1934, a daughter of the late Frederick C. and Edna Mae Irwin Cloutier and was a 1952 graduate of Broadalbin High School. Mary Lou was a lifelong area resident. Mrs. Roser was employed as a dental assistant for Dr. Smith in Johnstown and Dr. Vlock in Gloversville for ten years. Later, she worked at Mohawk Furniture in Broadalbin for twenty-five years, retiring in 2003. She enjoyed crafting and often had a booth at area craft fairs. Mary Lou enjoyed watching college basketball and was a fan of the NC Tar Heels. She was also a NY Mets fan. Mary Lou was a member of the Broadalbin Chapter of TOPS and a member of the Farm Bureau. She was married to Wheaton W. Roser on September 4, 1955. He died March 21, 2017. Survivors include four sons, Timothy Roser of Broadalbin, Thomas (Peggy) Roser of Galway, Kevin Roser of Plattsburgh, and Jon Roser of Broadalbin; a brother, F. Robert (Peggy) Cloutier of St. Augustine, FL, a sister, Joan (Richard) Abbatiello of West Sand Lake; six grandchildren, Kristopher, Joshua, Jessica, Alexandra, Tanner, and Meghan; four great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Madison, Joshua, Jr., and Jacob; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, from 11a.m. to 1p.m. at the Robert M. Halgas Funeral Home, Inc. 111 County Highway 106 (Corner of Route 29 and Black Street) Johnstown followed by a prayer service at 1p.m. with Rev. Jun Segura, officiating. Burial will be held in St. Basil’s Cemetery, Broadalbin. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph’s Church or a charity of choice, in care of the funeral home.
