Ruth Frasier

February 18, 1938 - January 12, 2021

Ruth “Meme” Frasier, 82, of Reidel Road, Perth, passed away peacefully on Tuesday January 12, 2021 at her son and daughter-in-law’s home in the Town of Hope, with her loving family at her bedside. She was born in Gloversville on February 18, 1938 the daughter of Alexander and Marie Moser Aesch and was a graduate of Mayfield Central School. “Meme” was a lifelong area resident. Mrs. Frasier was known as one of “the Lunch Ladies “at Perth Central School for many years, always making sure each student who wanted a lunch received one. Later, she was employed as an account clerk with the Fulton County Building & Grounds Dept. in Johnstown, until her retirement. Ruth was a member of the North Main Methodist Church in Gloversville. She also enjoyed cooking, gardening, and canning. She also enjoyed Bingo, visiting casinos, and traveling with her family and friends. The trip that she treasured the most was with her grandson, Jason and his wife, Kristin, when they traveled to Switzerland where her parents were born and raised. She was amazed by the beauty of the Swiss Alps and enjoyed her visit to the family ostrich farm and spending time with her “Swiss family”. Her greatest enjoyment, however, was any time she could spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s birthday parties. She married the love of her life, Lawrence Frasier on May 27, 1956. They spent forty-four years together before his passing away on March 2, 2000. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, JoAnne Lehr on March 17, 2017; her great-granddaughter, Melissa Jones on November 30, 2016; her brother, Alex Aesch; and her two sisters, Mary Lock and Rosa Vergun. Survivors include two sons, Jeffrey (Sue) Frasier of Perth and Joel (Kelly) Frasier of Hope; a brother, Richard (Sandy) Aesch of Gloversville; nine grandchildren, Jason (Kristin), Christopher (Lish), Jillian (Bob), Richard (Shannon), Brian, Nicole, Brandon (Rachel), Jordan, and Ryan; fourteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family would like to thank the Palliative Care Team of St. Mary’s Hospital, and Dr. Erika Wachtmeister and her staff, for their care and support in assisting the family in honoring Ruth’s wished to be home during her final months, and to remain comfortable and leave this world peacefully and with dignity. Private services were held for the family with Rev. Dr. R.W. Williams and burial was in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation – Palliative Care Dept., in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are by the Robert M.
