Darcel L. "Darcy" Ross

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of my beloved wife, Darcel Clute Ross, 60, who passed away at home peacefully on Wednesday June 19, 2024, surrounded by family and friends. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and a true friend to many. Darcy was predeceased by her mother Geraldine Clute, her father Harry Clute, and a sister, Lori Clute. She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Kevin Ross; a son William Hayes and his wife Kayla and three grandkids, Rodney, Sadie, and Tate; a stepson Jason and grandchild, Braydon; two stepdaughters, Jessica Brick and Christine Hayes, and a brother, Douglas Clute (Lori Ellis). She was a woman of many passions, deeply devoted to her family and her hobbies. Darcy had a special place in her heart for animals of all sizes and shapes, most of them rescued, providing them with a great home with love and compassion. Her love for crafts was boundless, often creating beautiful handmade items that brought joy to those around her. But most of all, she adored her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Throughout her battle with cancer, Darcy displayed immense courage and determination, always trying to stay positive despite the challenges she faced. She inspired us all with her strength and resilience. Even in her toughest moments, she never ceased to make us smile and showed a selflessness that was truly remarkable. Her kindness knew no bounds; she would give the shirt off her back to help someone in need. Darcy's legacy of love, generosity, and warmth will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. Though our hearts are heavy with her loss, we take comfort in knowing that she is now in a better place, free from pain and suffering. Our family prays and believes that she has found peace, and we hold onto the cherished memories she left behind. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024, from 11am -1pm at the Robert M. Halgas Funeral Home, Inc. 111 County Highway 106 (Corner of Route 29 & Black Street), Johnstown followed by a memorial service at 1pm with Rev. Dr. Bonnie Orth, officiating. Burial will follow at Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown. We would like to inform everyone that a remembrance ceremony for Darcy will be scheduled at a later date. Family and friends will be invited to join us in celebrating her life and sharing cherished memories. Further details will be provided once arrangements have been made. Thank you for your understanding and support during this difficult time In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her honor to Kitten Angels in the Capital District or James A. Brennan Memorial Humane Society in Gloversville, NY. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever be with us. Rest in peace, my Cupcake. With all my love, your Icing Kevin.
