Patricia Alden

Patricia Lopato Alden, 81, of Jockeyville Road, Gloversville, passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at Albany Medical Center after a short illness. She was born in Bridgeport, CT on June 27, 1943, a daughter of Peter and Helen (Jankowski) Lopato and attended school in Trumbull, CT. Patricia married her husband of 58 years, Wayne Alden Sr., on December 3, 1965. They moved to Fort Plain, NY with their three children on April 8, 1977, and many years later, to Gloversville after retiring from farming. She co-owned and operated Alden Farms, a dairy farm in Fort Plain with her husband, Wayne. Patricia was also employed at Ames Department in Palatine Bridge for several years. She was funny, strong and such a kind, loving person. She enjoyed sewing and crafts and spending time with her children and grand- and great-grandchildren. She was a very hard worker alongside her husband on their dairy farm. She loved driving the tractors, especially big ones! Above all, she cherished the time spent with her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two sisters, Eleanor Bernabucci and Florence Gay. Patricia is survived by her husband, Wayne R. “Butch” Alden Sr; their three children, Lisa Miller and her husband Wade of Rotterdam, Wayne Alden Jr and his wife Christine of Wallkill, and Christine Yager and her husband Brent of Amsterdam; five siblings, Doris Kosloffsky, Barbara Whiting, Helen Edith Clarke, Peter (Elizabeth) Lopato, and John (Cheryl) Lopato; three grandchildren, Rebecca Andrew and her husband Christopher, Holly Miller and Samantha Miller (Joey); five step-grandchildren, Ava and Jade Lofaro, Brent (Cassidy) Yager, Corey (McKenzie) Yager and Leonardo Yager; eight great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 30, 2024, from 4-6 p.m. at Robert M. Halgas Funeral Home, Inc. 111 County Highway 106 (corner of Rt.29 and Black St.) Johnstown followed by a funeral service at 6 p.m. with Pastor Scott Stipe, officiating. Cremation will be held at Park View Crematorium, Schenectady at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
