Patricia Ann Ille

Patricia Ann Ille, 86, of South Melcher Street, Johnstown, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville. She was born on May 8, 1940, in Gloversville, a daughter of Delbert and Evelyn Stead Reynolds. She was a lifelong area resident of the Town of Wells and attended Wells Central School. She met the love of her life at Wells Central School. On November 1, 1958, Patty married Donald James Ille. They spent over 65 years together before his passing on June 26, 2024. She spent her life caring for her family and her home. Patty loved going to Fonda stock car races every Saturday night with her husband, Don, sister, Marcia and her husband, Gary. She and Don also enjoyed spending winters snowmobiling with Marcia, Gary, Donna, and Dick. Pat and Don traveled extensively for work and made their trips an adventure. Additionally, Pat made her home a place of comfort with her sprawling gardens, handmade ceramics, and delicious baked goods she made for everyone. Beyond her varied interests, she found her greatest happiness in her roles as a devoted mother to her two daughters and an adoring grandmother to her five grandsons. She loved watching them play soccer and basketball and every point they scored earned them a no bake oatmeal cookie or brownie. Her grandsons were her pride and joy. Patty will always be remembered as the most loving wife, mother, and grandmother and she will be deeply missed. In addition to her parents and husband, Patty was predeceased by her sisters, Evelyn, Karen, Sandy, Marcia, and Kathy. Survivors include her two daughters, Bonnie Sue (Jeffrey) Smith of Mayfield and Lorraine Lynn (James) Mulhall of Gloversville; two sisters, Donna (Richard) Amadon and Debra Reynolds; brothers, Joseph (Delilah) Reynolds and John (Ruth) Reek; her five grandsons, D.J. (Donald) Smith, Jason D. Hoose, Jeffrey J. Smith, Jack D. Smith, and Chad J. Mulhall; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, and cousins. Cremation was performed at Park View Crematorium, Schenectady. A private graveside service will be held for Patty and Don at Mayfield Union Rural Cemetery, Mayfield, with Rev. Matthew Wetsel, officiating. Arrangements are by Robert M. Halgas Funeral Home, Inc. 111 County Highway 106 (corner of Route 29 & Black Street), Johnstown, NY.
