Jon M. Stack

January 31, 1954 - July 6, 2018

Jon M. Stack, 64, of Broad Street, Broadalbin died Friday morning July 6, 2018 at New York-Presbyterian Medical Center. He was born in Gloversville on January 31, 1954 a son of Richard and Marilyn Vickery Stack and was a 1972 graduate of Bishop Burke High School. Jon resided in Broadalbin since 1982. Mr. Stack was employed by the Golub Corp. in Schenectady for 46 ½ years, retiring last year. Jon was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in Broadalbin where he served as a lector. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #7629, a member of the Rev. Peter H. Smith Assembly #2505, and a member of the Color Corp. Jon was also a member of the Pine Tree Rifle Club. He enjoyed classic cars, birdwatching, and traveling. Jon loved spending time with family and friends, and was someone who always found joy in everything. Survivors include his wife, Carol Zugzda Stack, whom he married on January 18, 1980; a daughter, Christina (Michael) Huffman of Mayfield; a brother, Richard Stack (Nancy Krawczeski) of Perth; three grandchildren, Jenna, Brianna, and Kannan; a great-granddaughter, Melany; and two nephews, Jason and Daniel Stack. Cremation was performed at Park View Crematorium, Schenectady. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4 – 8 pm at the Robert M. Halgas Funeral Home, Inc. 111 County Highway 106 (Corner of Route 29 & Black Street), Johnstown. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 am at St. Joseph’s Church 7 North Street, Broadalbin, with Rev. Jun Segura officiating. Final burial will be Evergreen Cemetery, Fonda. Memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice or to St. Joseph’s Church, both in care of the funeral home.
