Martin B. Hill

March 24, 1948 - February 7, 2021

Martin B. Hill, 72, of Fayville Road, Broadalbin passed away on Sunday February 7, 2021 at home with his loving family at his side. He was born in Glens Falls on March 24, 1948 the oldest of nine children to Edward and Gloria Ainsworth Hill and spent his early years in Bolton Landing. Marty moved to Galway as a child and was a 1967 graduate of Galway Central School. He later attended HVCC and studied electrical engineering. Marty lived in Broadalbin for the past forty-seven years. Marty was employed as a service tech at School House Pools in Amsterdam and then later at Hill Street Pool in Galway where he retired from. Marty thoroughly loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and camping. He was a NASCAR fan and supported #3, Dale Earnhart, and later #88, Dale Earnhart, Jr. He also enjoyed country music. Most of all, Marty treasured his family and loved spending time with family and friends all who will dearly miss him. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Elson Hill, whom he married on January 11, 1976; four children, Jason L. Elson of Amsterdam, Perry M. Hill of Lawrenceburg, TN, Caroline S. Hill (Lee Powers) of Glenville, and Martylee B. Hill (Timothy Czajkowski) of Decatur, AL; fourteen grandchildren, Bridgette, Jason Jr., Cody, Cheyenne, Kevin, Cassandra, Cristian, Kirsten, Kerilee, Ryan, Samuel, Cristopher, Alexandria, and Gabriella; and several nieces and nephews. Cremation was performed at Park View Crematorium, Schenectady. Services will be held privately.
