Shennon Michael Capron

On Saturday, April 19th, Shennon Michael Capron ascended to his rightful place with God and was welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven by the open arms of beloved family and friends who passed before him. Shen was the devoted and loving partner of Jennifer Carter. Together, they shared many cherished years and built a life full of love, laughter, and lasting memories at their home in Amsterdam. A true outdoorsman, Shen found joy and peace in nature. From Fish House to the Atlantic coasts of Maine and Rhode Island, there was no trail, pond, creek, river, or shoreline he left unexplored. Whether fishing or ice fishing, snowmobiling, skating, boating, camping, or skiing, Shen thrived in the great outdoors and loved sharing those adventures with family and friends. Shen was a talented craftsman with an artistic spirit. He poured his creativity into his home contracting business, LoDack Builders, and enjoyed designing custom pieces – both functional and decorative – for homes and kitchens alike. A proud graduate of the Broadalbin-Perth Class of 2000, Shen was a gifted athlete who excelled in both football and baseball. He went on to study communications at Buffalo State College and the University at Albany, where he earned his bachelor’s degree. Before founding his own business, Shen was also a Senior Radiological Control Technician for the US Department of Energy, where he formed lifelong friendships at the SPRU Disposition Project in Niskayuna. More than his talents, accomplishments, or career, Shen will be remembered for his heart. He had an unwavering dedication to helping others. If someone needed assistance – even with something unfamiliar to him – Shen would eagerly learn a new skill or tackle a new challenge just to lend a hand. He always made time for those he loved: his friends, his family, and most especially, his children. Shen is survived by his beloved children - his son, Degan, and his daughters, Kylie and Jaylin - who were the pride and joy of his life. He also leaves behind his loving mother, Cherie; his father, Michael; and his brother, Janson, along with Janson’s family: Emily, Charlie, and Maddie. He is also survived by his great-uncle, Harry Winters; his maternal aunts and uncles: Robert Winters, Linda and Kenneth Young, Terri Winters and Larry Prelli, and Barbara and Michael Wacker; his cousins: Corrie, Rebecca, Christopher, Kevin, Matthew, Daniel, Nicholas, and Sarah; and his paternal aunt and uncles: Shirley, Richard and William, and cousins: Mark, Eric, Brian, and William. Shen is now reunited in Heaven with his maternal grandparents, Bernice and Robert Winters; paternal grandparents, Mabel and Kenneth Capron; stepmother, Darlene Capron; aunt, Corky Winters; uncles, Arthur and Jack Capron; and other dear family members and friends who have gone before him. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025, from 11am – 1pm at the Robert M. Halgas Funeral Home, Inc., 111 County Highway 106 (Corner of Route 29 & Black Street), Johnstown. A Celebration of Life for Shen will follow at 1pm at the funeral home with Rev. Jun Segura, officiating. Final resting place will be in Broadalbin-Mayfield Rural Cemetery, Broadalbin. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to support his children’s scholarship fund through the QR Code on Shen's Tribute Wall.
